If you are seriously considering adopting a Bouvier des Flandres, please learn as much as you can about the breed. Bouviers are not for eveyone and I highly recommend that you read and study Don't Buy a Bouvier by Pam Green, For a list of books about Bouviers, go to Books About Bouviers.
In case you still have not gotten the point, Bouviers are large, intelligent, stubbon, and shaggy dogs that require:
1. Obedience training. This is an ABSOLUTE necessity. You MUST establish who is master and also ensure that your Bouvier is socialized and a good citizen.
2. Regular grooming to ensure that the coat is free of dirt and mats. This is necessary for good health.
Note that most adoptions will require an interview and an on-site visit. This is for the protection of the dog and to try to ensure that that both the dog and the new owner will be happy with their new arrangement.
Note to adoption coordinators and adopters. If a dog listed here is adopted, please notify me at gaska@nilenet.com.
