Molly is back home
05.23.09
Molly, our 5.5 year old Border Collie mix had TPLO surgery yesterday (Friday) at the vet school at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She did well and there were a few complications that were corrected. She was very happy to see us this morning when we picked her up.
She is isolated in the living room with a large crate which she likes to sleep in, several dog beds, and an ex pen. We had a hard plastic e collar, but she didn’t like that at all and promptly removed it. We went out and got a soft Comfy Collar (shades of Monty Python Comfy Chair), and an inflatable Pro Collar. Not sure which will work the best, but we have to prevent her from licking her incision. She has already had one 5 minute walk around the yard.
Three of our other dogs are being annoying as they want to know what is going on.

Thank you for posting this. My 9 year old border collie is in need of the TPLO surgery soon. I have been stressed out all day wondering how she will do and how her recovery will come along. I would love to see more postings about Molly and her progress and greatly appreciate the updates. I hope she is well and thanks again!
Sincerely,
Jaime
