Please help Chester and Scout

This is from Southern California German Shepherd Rescue. They are a tremendous rescue organization that I have donated to before.
Poor Chester, a beautiful, happy, friendly and loving boy of two years at most lived the last six or seven months with his elbow torn apart. He constantly held his paw up and in front of him to try to alleviate some of the pain. His injury would have been easy to fix had it been done right away, but his family let him suffer, and the surgery became much, much more complex. You can see from his coat he’s never had a brush run through it. Our wonderful vet and his staff have done surgery on Chester and although we’re scared he may have nerve damage, we had to try our best for Chester, someone had to care for this poor neglected boy. We have to wait until his cast comes off to see if he can use his leg. Chester’s surgery alone is estimated to be $2,500. Its just horrible that anyone would leave an animal with such an injury.
Scout found himself in a shelter in Yuma, Arizona. Poor one year old Scout is a happy, loving guy, he’s tall and underweight. Scout is beautiful and he was adopted from the shelter, but then a disaster happened. Scout tested positive for heartworm, and instead of treating him, his family just dropped him off back at the shelter. The only chance Scout has was to go to rescue. Luckily his angel Cyndi got in touch with SCGSR and we couldn’t say no to this adorable guy. The treatment for heartworm is expensive, but Scout will likely lead a completely normal life after just a short treatment. Treatment itself can be dangerous and Scout must be kept quiet, but we’re pulling for him and we know you are too!
Help Scout and Chester pay for their care! Again we have to ask you for help, all because people neglect the care of these beautiful animals. Scout and Chester are hoping for your help right now. Every little bit helps and they need your support today.
