Beauty
I ask for your help for
Beauty. I picked Beauty up in
the Bi-Lo
parking lot. She can barely hold her head up, and can
barely
walk. She is extremely depressed and very thin. She has a
vet
appointment tomorrow, but I am sure she has a very long recovery, and
a lot of
medical care ahead of her.
I could just say that it
is too much to handle and turn my back, but
it is cases
like this that mak me want to fight with all my effort to
help this
poor girl know love, know health, know comfort, know life without
pain.
Despite her condition, she still comes to your side for
a loving
touch (which I am sure she has never had)....She tries to
raise her
head to look at you, she still tries to wag her tail. As I
type this
email, I can hardly see what I am doing because of the tears
that
develop from the overwhelming sorrow I feel for this little girl.

Hi Everyone...Just wanted to send a quick update....sorry , it is late and I am
very tired, but I know everyone wants to know what is going on. Beauty's
blood work came back normal...so that is another prayer answered. I
thought for sure we would find something wrong. She is heartworm negative
and getting stronger everyday. She is still very reluctant to do much
outside her safe haven, but last night....she went out to do her business and
then trotted back up to her room and when she got inside, she plopped over on
her back and exposed her belly to me. That...is huge, she has
not had that much life yet. She laid there for a good couple of minutes
while I rubbed her belly and she LOVED it. I am not sure why she decided
to make herself vulnerable to me at that moment, but I felt blessed and she
looked content!!
She continues to get
stronger and gets up to greet me when I enter her room. She has show any
emotion in her face, but I guess that will come in time. I know she is a
great dog and we will give her the time she needs to heal from her horrible
past!!
The response to her has
been wonderful and I want to thank everyone for your support. It has been

hill.....uff, puff, uuff, pufff.....wow..she is in better shape than I am!!

smell the roses".....well, okay, actually the weeds...heehee!!

Hi Everyone....sorry for the delay in updating you on Beauty. Not a
whole lot to report. There is not much change in her skin and hair.(that
is going to take some time). She loves her weekly trips to the vet and
will just jump right up in the car to take the trip. She does well at the vet
and well with her bath. I am sure that it feels very good to have your
skin scrubbed and cleaned when you have such a condition.
She has settled into her new environment and has the routine down...and has
gotten playful (mostly in the morning). She can be a bit stubborn about
going out to go to the bathroom at times, but I guess she has earned that
right..!!
I am searching for someone to help me get her to the vets office every
week....if anyone is close enough and has the time to travel up and pick her up
to get her to the vet before 9 everyweek, please let me know....I can pick her
up in the afternoon...I just have a hard time getting her to the vet early
enough for them to do everything they need to do...
I appreciate your continued support and will try to get some pictures of her
soon. Lori

Well..Beauty is coming along "beautifully"..LOL. She has tons of
new hair growth (yeahhhh...we didnt know if that would be the case or
not). She is acting like a normal dog, guards her domain, likes to be
around other dogs....gets up to greet me when I enter her room. She looks
like a different dog. I cant wait to see how beautiful her coat is in a
couple of months.. Thanks for the support! Lori and Beauty.

Well, Beauty continues to do well. She has settled into the
kennel now and is doing fine. She did have some back issues (pinched
nerve) a few weeks ago and we put her on some medication. I have since
taken her off the medication and she seems to be doing fine on her own.
She is a very laid back dog that is just content whereever you put her.
She is so sweet...I pray I can find a home for her. She continues her
mange treatment , although she looks great, but has not yet tested negative for
the mite. She is very loved and seems content...although, I am sure would
be more content in a home of her own....please pass this around to anyone that
might consider giving her a home. She really is no trouble at all and is
very well behaved!!! Happy Holidays to all!!! Lori
